🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS 🏏

** 1ST XI MAKE A STATEMENT AND JUMP INTO 2ND SPOT **

** Saturday, 24 January 2026 **
Round 9 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th
Round 11 – 5th XI

🏏 1st XI
The 1st XI delivered a commanding performance to move into the top four and claim second place on the ladder with an outright victory over Applecross. After being dismissed for 217, the side responded superbly with the ball, reducing the opposition to 5/37 at stumps before bowling them out for 60. Enforcing the follow-on, they maintained the pressure and dismissed Applecross for 146 to secure maximum points. Captain Jerra Smith led from the front with exceptional figures of 5/7 and 5/48. Adam Copley (3/27) and Alistair Laurie (2/2) were key contributors in the first innings, while Sean O’Callaghan added 3/47 in the second.

🏏 2nd XI
In a low-scoring contest at Jones Paskin Reserve, the 2nd XI pushed hard for a result after conceding a first-innings deficit. Early breakthroughs on day two saw Applecross finish their innings at 95, before the side responded with 138 in reply, setting a target of 97 for Applecross to get the extra points or 2nd XI getting a reverse outright win. Applecross reached 4/47 before time expired, with neither team able to get their objective. Brayden Cosson (3/13), Matty Hill (2/21), and Joel Handford (2/29) impressed in the first innings, while Handford also contributed a valuable 63 with the bat and 4/20 with the ball in the second.

🏏 3rd XI
The 3rd XI came close in their run chase of 228, finishing 31 runs short. Strong contributions from Alex Chao (60), Shayan Dash (50), Shaun O’Shea (34), and Henri Werndly (22) kept the contest alive until the closing stages.

🏏 4th XI
Defending a strong total of 8/321 from the previous week, the 4th XI withstood a determined effort from Whitfords to secure a hard-fought 27-run victory. Joshua Armitt (3/64) and Johnny Budalich (2/61) led the wicket-taking effort.

🏏 5th XI
The 5th XI showed great resolve while chasing Applecross’s total of 189 but fell just short, going down by 14 runs. Tony Donatelli (3/27) and Aarav Raj (2/54) were standouts with the ball, while Max Gamble (68) and Jarred Plane (40) anchored the batting effort.

🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS 🏏

** 4TH XI POST IMPRESSIVE TOTAL **

** Saturday, 17 January 2026 **
Round 9 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th
Round 10 – 5th XI

🏏 4th XI
After the loss of two early wickets, the 4th XI took control through a dominant middle-order performance to post a formidable total of 8/321, setting up a strong position heading into next week. Adam Van Gent (82) and Matt Turnbull (71) led the charge, well supported by Junaid Chaudhry (42*), Sachin Bhaskaran (42), and Fawad Mahmood (37)

🏏 1st XI
A commanding opening partnership of 125 between Jackson Chadd (61) and Charith Satharasinghe (54) laid the foundation for the 1st XI’s total of 217, with Kyle Cosson adding a valuable 35 in the middle order. In reply, Applecross are under pressure at stumps on 5/37, with captain Jerra Smith (4/2) producing a devastating spell through the top order

🏏 2nd XI
A challenging day with the bat saw the 2nd XI dismissed for 54. However, the side remains in the contest with the opposition 8/79 at stumps, keeping the possibility of a reverse outright result alive. Brayden Cosson (3/8) and Matty Hill (2/21) led the fightback with the ball. They will need to get those last 2 wickets pretty quickly next week and a much better performance with the bat for any chance of a win

🏏 3rd XI
The 3rd XI will resume next week with some work to do chasing 228, finishing the day at 2/13 at stumps. Earlier, Matt Hunter (4/52) and Shaun O’Shea (2/39) were the standout performers with the ball

🏏 5th XI
The 5th XI recorded a comprehensive victory over Fremantle Mosman Park. After posting a competitive 178, they dismissed the opposition for 67. Jared Lamont (42) and Chris Giles (21) stabilised the innings after an early collapse to 5/40. The bowling attack proved too strong, led by Asad Naeem (4/27), Matty Williams (2/2), Aarav Silas Raj (2/13), and Jarred Plane (2/25).

🏏 WEEKEND FIXTURES 🏏

🏏 WEEKEND FIXTURES 🏏

** Saturday, 17 January 2026 **
Round 9 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th XI
Round 10 – 5th XI

We return to the two-day format this round for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th XIs.

Following strong wins last week, both the 1st and 2nd XIs currently sit in fifth position on the ladder, with Net Run Rate the only factor separating them from the top four. With four rounds remaining, this is another crucial round as both sides look to maintain pressure on those above them. Each team will face Applecross.

The 3rd XI, currently in seventh place, will be keen to build on the momentum from their emphatic victory last round as they take on second-placed Wembley Districts.

The 4th XI sits second on the ladder and will play Whitfords this round. After a loss last week and with other sides closing the gap, a win will be important in strengthening their position heading into finals.

The 5th XI still has work to do in their finals push. Sitting two games outside the top four, a strong run of results will be key to keeping their chances alive.

We are also pleased to confirm that both the 1st and 2nd XIs have qualified for the One Day Semi Finals, to be played on Sunday, 8 February. Further details will be shared soon.
