🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS🏏
** Saturday, 14 March 2026 **
Round 13 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th XI
Round 18 - 5th XI
🏏 1st XI
In a confidence-boosting result ahead of next week’s finals, the 1st XI secured a strong 5-wicket victory over ladder leaders before this round North Perth. After restricting the opposition to 8/149, the side successfully chased the target, finishing 5 wickets down.
Standout performances came from Heshan Perera (3/32 and 37), Jerra Smith (2/20), and Kyle Cosson (43no).
Despite the win, other results saw the 1st XI finish 4th on the ladder. They will face Swan Athletic Caversham in next week’s Semi-Final.
🏏 2nd XI
The 2nd XI recorded a solid 4-wicket win over North Perth, however other results meant they narrowly missed finals, finishing 5th on the ladder on net run rate.
After bowling North Perth out for 132, the chase was completed comfortably with overs to spare.
Key contributors with the ball were Cory Howes (4/35), Matt Hill (2/13), and Sam Dymock (2/24). With the bat, Jesse Doney (38) and Alex Chao (34) led the scoring.
🏏 3rd XI
The 3rd XI finished their season strongly with a hard-fought 9-run victory. Posting 8/177, they held off Bassendean who finished on 8/168.
With the bat, Andy Gregory (35), Shaun O’Shea (29), Wilfred Bicknell (29), and Jared Lamont (26) all made valuable contributions.
Daniel Howes (2/27) was the leading wicket-taker in a well-rounded team bowling effort. The side finished 6th on the ladder.
🏏 4th XI
In a preview of next week’s Semi-Final, the 4th XI fell short against Fremantle Mosman Park. Chasing 210 for victory, the side was unable to reach the target, finishing 43 runs short.
Ben Allan (2/30) was the standout with the ball, while Matt Turnbull (54) and Jacob Paolino (29) led the run scoring.
The teams will meet again in the Semi-Final next week, this time on home soil.
🏏 5th XI
The 5th XI closed their season on a high with a determined 22-run win over Western Suburbs to finish 6th on the ladder.
Boris Krebl delivered an outstanding performance with the ball, taking 6/33, well supported by Chase Williams (2/40).
After early trouble with the bat, veterans Paul Southall (48) and Darren Mullooly (39no) steadied the innings to help post a competitive total.

It is with great sadness that we share the news Jenny Bridger passed away earlier this week.
Jenny was a Life Member of Balcatta Cricket Club and one of the club’s original committee members.
She played a significant role in the early years of the club, particularly through her involvement with our junior program. Jenny also served as Club Secretary for many years and spent countless hours scoring matches and supporting teams. Our Club would not be what it is today without her.
For many players and families, Jenny was the first person they met when joining the club, always welcoming everyone with warmth and kindness.
Jenny was a truly beautiful and caring person who made a lasting contribution to our club and community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with Jenny’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. 💙

🎉🎉 1ST XI WIN ONE DAY GRAND FINAL IN A THRILLER 🎉🎉
** Sunday, 22 February 2026 **
1st Grade One Day Grand Final – 1st XI vs Murdoch University Melville
In a thrilling Sunday showdown, our 1st XI claimed the 1st Grade One Day Grand Final with a hard-fought victory over Murdoch University Melville at Jones Paskin Reserve.
Bowling first, the 1st XI made an immediate impact, reducing the visitors to 4/30. Despite a pair of middle-order partnerships that lifted Murdoch University Melville to a competitive 174, our bowlers maintained strong control throughout the innings. Hassan Khadim (3/18), Heshan Perera (3/25), Adam Copley (2/23), and Jerra Smith (2/39) were outstanding in restricting the total.
In reply, the innings began with early setbacks before Heshan Perera (53) and Ricardo de Nobrega (50) steadied the chase with a composed partnership. Kyle Cosson’s valuable 42 further strengthened the position. However, a sudden middle-order collapse saw the 1st XI slip to 8/164, still requiring 10 runs for victory.
With composure and leadership, Captain Jerra Smith stepped up to seal the result in style, striking a six to secure the win.
Congratulations to the 1st XI on an outstanding team performance and a well-deserved victory!
Best Player in the Final awarded by the Umpires: Heshan Perera
